Zombie Self-Determination?
As part of our mission to foster OA, we regularly collaborate with publishers and journals. For this review symposium, Bill Bowring’s review ‘Zombie Self-Determination?’ of Johannes Socher’s monograph ‘Russia and the Right to Self-Determination in the Post-Soviet Space’ has been made open access thanks to the courtesy of Brill.
The review article was published in the ‘Review of Central and East European Law’ (RCEEL), 49 (2024), 1–21, and can be downloaded as an OA-.pdf here.
Bill Bowring teaches international law, human rights, international criminal justice and Marxism at Birkbeck College and is a practising barrister, representing many cases against Russia at the ECtHR. He is a Russian speaker, has worked in Russia from 1983 and in Ukraine from 1991, and was arrested twice in Russia and deported in connection with his work on Chechnya.
