Introducing the Symposium ‘The Person Behind the Academic’
If one’s academic personality and inner value system are interconnected and inseparable, then getting to know the person behind the academic can help readers to better understand one’s work. If, on the other hand, one’s personal views are not reflected in their teachings, writings, or jurisprudential practice, then the reasons behind this divergence are also of interest. Meanwhile, discovering the sources of various academics’ inspiration and getting a glimpse of their working habits may also be similarly influential or motivating and may allow younger scholars to demystify the road to inspiring works.
Embracing the idea of deconstructing the remoteness of academics from each other and from the public, the Völkerrechtsblog introduces the symposium ‘The Person Behind the Academic’, which will seek to unveil the person behind inspiring academic texts, judgements, or lectures through a series of interviews. Various academics will be asked questions about the sources of their inspiration, their personal views of academia and justice, as well as on their habits, personal interests, and everyday life. Are you ready to meet the person behind the academic?
We wish you all an exciting read!
