Lina Schmitz-Buhl

Lina Schmitz-Buhl is an international criminal lawyer, research fellow at the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) and incoming Mercator fellow on international affairs. Her work focuses on criminal accountability for enforced disappearances, sexualized and gender-based violence and other international crimes committed in Syrian detention facilities. In addition to the two German state exams in law, Lina holds an LL.M. from King’s College London and a Maîtrise en Droit from Université Paris II.
