Comparative Climate Litigation in North-South Perspective

Photo by Matt Palmer on Unsplash.

In the light of the ongoing climate crisis, the articles gathered in this symposium discuss and compare current developments, specific tools, and constraints of climate litigation with a particular focus on the Global South. Which strategies have proven successful in litigating for climate justice and why? What lessons can we draw from the numerous and innovative judgments on climate change in the Global South? And what is the role of comparative law in climate litigation more generally? In a collaborative effort with the Verfassungsblog we want to invite readers to take a step back and refrain themselves from traditional legal concepts in looking at specific features of climate litigation in the Global South.
