İlayda Eskitaşçıoğlu is a PhD candidate at Koç University in İstanbul, Turkey. She is a fellow at the Koç University UNESCO Chair on Gender Equality and Sustainable Development, a researcher at the Center for Gender Studies (KOÇKAM) and the founder of an NGO named We Need to Talk, aiming to fight against period poverty and stigma in Turkey. She serves as a member of the Generation Equality Youth Task Force and was recently chosen as one of the 17 Young Leaders for Sustainable Development Goals by the United Nations.
