International Winter University

This year it will focus on:

“International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and International Human Rights Law (IHRL): Navigating Implementation and Compliance Challenges.”

The program provides students and young professionals from around the world with the opportunity:

• to deepen their understanding of IHL and IHRL, and how it is applied,
• ⁠to develop an understanding of current debates and challenges and what the benefits and obstacles of IHL and IHRL might be,
• to engage with leading experts in the field, and
• to connect with peers in a truly international learning environment.

The International Winter University combines lectures and discussions surrounding on IHL and IHRL. In the first week, the students will get an introduction to the legal frameworks governing international affairs in times of war. In the second week, the focus will shift on the challenges arising when applying these legal frameworks.
