Challenging Frontex’s De Facto Immunity

The Importance of the CJEU’s Judgement in Hamoudi v. Frontex

27.-27.01.2026
13:00 -14:30 o'clock

The ESIL Interest Group on Migration and Refugee Law will host its first webinar of the year on 27.01.2026 (13:00-14:30 CET). The event will take the form of a roundtable discussion bringing together experts in refugee law and strategic litigation to revisit and reflect on the CJEU’s recent judgment in Hamoudi v. Frontex. This landmark decision addresses evidentiary standards and the burden of proof in pushback litigation and opens the way for the General Court to put an end to Frontex’s decade-long de facto legal immunity. Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions to the panel, which includes members of the appellant’s legal team. Prior registration is required via: http://bit.ly/49oyjLo.
