The Research Colloquium is entering its second round! After a successful debut in October 2024, the AjV e.V. is thrilled to invite doctoral candidates and post-doctoral researchers alike to present their current research in the field of international law. This time, we will be hosted by Hertie School.
No matter where you stand with your research, you are invited to present and discuss current work that you intend to publish in the near future. The event will provide a welcoming, inclusive, and, most importantly, informal setting for discussion and debate.
The research colloquium is a chance to share and test preliminary findings of your research and to discuss current challenges. A distinctive feature of the Research Colloquium is its informal and non-hierarchical atmosphere, which fosters collaborative thinking and the development of your research.
In line with these premises, each participant will be allocated a time slot of approximately 40 to 45 minutes, comprising a 15- to 20-minute presentation, a five-minute critical comment, and a 15- to 20-minute open discussion of the ideas presented. We encourage all participants to present innovative approaches and contribute their perspectives.
The Research Colloquium is open to all interested in questions of international law and is not tied to the presentation of a research project. The working language is English.

The 2nd AjV Research Colloquium is organized by the Association of Young Scholars in International Law (AjV e.V.) in cooperation with Hertie School.
Interested?
Presenters: Send us a short abstract (max. 600 words; English), outlining your research project and stating your main thesis by 20 April 2025.
Engaged listeners: Register by email by 11 May 2025.
