Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Human Rights and Social Justice
Fulda University of Applied Sciences and its Doctoral Research Group Human Rights and Social Justice invite you to the International Conference “Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Human Rights and Social Justice”, which takes place from 20 until 22 November 2024 on-site in Fulda (Germany).
Human Rights and Social Justice are distinct but intersecting areas of academic inquiry. Both can be considered as regulative ideas within politics, law, public debates, civic engagement and scientific research. They intersect both in the areas of social, economic, and cultural rights and in a normative claim in favor of an enlargement of entitlements decoupled from the national membership of the bearers of those entitlements. The aim of the conference is to bring together scholars from law, politics, sociology and cultural studies who scientifically work on topics of human rights and social justice.
In addition to great keynotes by Kate Nash, Gijsbert Vonk and Alain Pottage, current topics in the field of social rights in Europe, struggles for social justice among precarious migrant workers, indigenous struggles for social and environmental justice as well as the Anthropocene will be discussed by well known scholars from various countries.
The programme and further information are available on the conference website: https://www.hs-fulda.de/en/departments/social-cultural-sciences/research/doctoral-programme-human-rights-and-social-justice/international-conference-2024. Registrations are possible until 8 November 2024.
Looking forward to welcoming you in Fulda!
