{"id":4108,"date":"2016-06-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-06-17T08:15:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.voelkerrechtsblog.org\/articles\/megaregionals-and-the-others\/"},"modified":"2020-12-09T13:33:04","modified_gmt":"2020-12-09T12:33:04","slug":"megaregionals-and-the-others","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/voelkerrechtsblog.org\/de\/megaregionals-and-the-others\/","title":{"rendered":"Megaregionals and the others"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This weekend, public and international lawyers\u00a0gather\u00a0at Humboldt University in Berlin\u00a0for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/icon-society.org\/previous-conferences\/2016-conference\/programme_2016\/\">third conference of the International Society of Public Law<\/a>, entitled &#8220;Borders, Otherness, and Public Law&#8221;.\u00a0V\u00f6lkerrechtsblog takes up one particularly salient issue that is covered in panels and papers at the conference, but that is also a concern for\u00a0international and public lawyers worldwide: The future structure of international economic law, and more specifically, the rise of megaregional trade deals like TTIP and TPP. In keeping with the conference title,\u00a0the\u00a0subsequent\u00a0posts will cover perspectives of the Others &#8211; those not part of these\u00a0megaregionals, those beyond the new trade borders envisaged\u00a0by them, from India via South Africa to Latin America. The symposium will conclude with\u00a0a rejoinder from\u00a0NYU&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/megareg.iilj.org\/\">MegaReg research project<\/a>, whose team is co-organizing this series of posts together with V\u00f6lkerrechtsblog.
