On 9th April 2024, the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights issued decisions in three significant climate change cases. In this edition of the Current Issues in International Law series, Prof. Dr. Milanovic takes a critical look at these decisions and the European Court of Human Rights\u00b4 evolving role in addressing the climate crisis through the lens of human rights protection. This lecture examines various issues arising from these landmark decisions, including questions of standing, extraterritoriality and the scope of the right to respect for private and family life (Article 8 ECHR).<\/p>\n
