The objective of the presentation is to discuss Russia\u2019s plans to station nuclear weapons on Belarusian territory. Putting the focus on an evaluation of the recently announced plan\u2019s legality under international law.<\/p>\n

First, the presenter will outline the legality in the context of nuclear-sharing arrangements and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (short: NPT). Moreover, the presenter will analyze the Security Council Meeting of 30th March 2023. This will include the different interpretations of the NPT, which were outlined by different Security Council members.<\/p>\n

The legal analysis will then focus on the alleged, possible violations of the NPT. Lastly, the presentation will conclude by targeting the question of available dispute settlement mechanisms for the present situation.<\/p>\n
